SwiftLink for Omega: Development Order Terms

Effective from: 1st September 2026

These terms apply to paid development orders for SwiftLink micro-adjustment links designed to fit Omega Aqua Terra and Railmaster bracelets. They supplement Steel Reef's general Terms and Conditions. If there is any conflict concerning a SwiftLink development order, these terms take precedence.

Please read them before ordering. They explain what you are buying, when you can cancel, and what happens if the project does not complete.

1. Who we are

Steel Reef is a trading name of Exploratory Drilling Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

  • Company registration number: 14196677
  • Registered office: The Ingenuity Centre, Triumph Road, Nottingham, NG7 2TU, United Kingdom
  • VAT registration number: GB 459350276
  • Email: customerenquiries@steel-reef.com

References to "Steel Reef", "we", "us" or "our" mean Exploratory Drilling Ltd. References to "you" or "your" mean the person placing the development order. We are the seller of the product and the party responsible to you under these terms.

You must be at least 18 years old to place a development order.

2. What you are buying, and what you are not

SwiftLink for Omega is still in development. By placing a development order you are buying goods that have not yet been manufactured. Your payment helps fund design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing preparation and the initial production run.

A development order is a contract for the sale of goods. It is not a financial investment. It gives you no shares, ownership, voting rights, interest, dividend, profit share or other financial return, and no security over our assets.

We do not describe development orders as investments and we ask you not to treat them as such.

3. How the contract is formed

Placing a development order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email. If we cannot accept your order, for example because your watch reference is not compatible or the development order group has already closed, we will tell you and will not charge you, or will refund you in full.

We take payment in full at the time you place your order.

4. How we hold your money

Until the funding condition in section 5 is met, we hold development order payments in a separate designated account and do not use them for general business purposes. If the funding condition is not met, that money is returned to you under section 5.

Once the funding condition is met, we begin committing funds to engineering, prototyping, tooling and production. From that point your payment forms part of the working capital of the business. If Steel Reef were to become insolvent after that point, you would rank as an unsecured creditor and might not recover your payment.

Paying by credit card, or by debit card where your bank offers chargeback, may give you additional protection from your card provider. We suggest you keep your order confirmation.

5. The funding condition

The project depends on receiving a fixed minimum number of paid development orders.

  • That minimum was set and recorded in writing before the order window opened. It will not be increased during the funding period.
  • We will publish a progress update at least once a month telling you whether the project is on track to proceed.
  • If the project is cancelled because the minimum was not reached, we will tell you what the minimum was and how many orders were received.
  • The order window is open until 23:59 GMT on 31 December 2026, unless the minimum is reached sooner.
  • If the minimum is reached, the development order group closes and the project proceeds.
  • If the minimum is not reached by that time, we will cancel the project and refund every development order in full, including any delivery charge paid, to the original payment method. We will process refunds within 14 days of the window closing.

Refunds are made in the currency you paid in. We are not responsible for differences caused by exchange rate movements, or by fees charged independently by your bank, card issuer or payment provider.

6. Timetable, updates and long stop date

Our current development plan is to:

  • lock the design in early 2027
  • begin production around the middle of 2027
  • deliver to development order customers later in 2027

These are good faith estimates, not guaranteed dates. Development, testing, manufacturing and quality control problems may change the timetable.

Updates. We will send you a development update at least once a month while the product remains in development.

Significant delay. If we expect a significant delay we will tell you what has changed and give you a revised estimated delivery date. If a revised estimate is more than six months later than the estimate we last gave you, you may cancel your order and we will refund you in full.

Long stop date. If we have not delivered your product by 31 December 2028, you may cancel your order at any time afterwards and we will refund you in full, whatever the reason for the delay.

Nothing in this section affects your rights under section 28 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or your cancellation rights in section 10.

7. Product design and the two mechanisms

We have developed two SwiftLink mechanisms:

  • the push-pull Spring Blade SwiftLink
  • the button-operated Sawtooth SwiftLink

Both are designed to deliver the same principal function: concealed micro-adjustment inside a bracelet link, with no visible change to the bracelet's exterior.

We have not yet decided which mechanism will be supplied for each reference. The decision will be based on testing, reliability, available internal dimensions and manufacturing requirements.

Your choice once we decide. When we confirm which mechanism will be supplied for your reference, we will email you. If you would prefer not to receive that mechanism, you may cancel your order within 14 days of that email and we will refund you in full.

Changes during development. Images, prototypes, renders and descriptions shown during development are illustrative. We may change dimensions, appearance, finishing, construction and operation where the change is needed because of testing results, reliability, safety, material availability, manufacturability or legal compliance, provided the finished product still performs its principal advertised function.

If we make a change that materially affects the appearance or operation of the product, we will tell you before dispatch and you may cancel your order within 14 days of that notice for a full refund.

If we cannot make it for your watch. If we determine that we cannot produce a suitable SwiftLink for the model and reference you selected, we will cancel your order and refund you in full.

8. Which watches this is for

You are responsible for selecting the correct Omega model and reference when ordering.

The product is being developed for the following bracelets only:

Railmaster

  • 40 mm, 2017 to 2023
  • 38 mm, 2025 onwards

Aqua Terra

  • 41 mm, 2017 to 2023, excluding the Shades collection
  • 38 mm, 2017 to 2023, excluding the Shades collection
  • 41.5 mm, 2014 to 2016
  • 38.5 mm, 2014 to 2016

Registering interest in a model does not confirm compatibility. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure of your watch or bracelet reference.

We cannot guarantee fitment to any watch or bracelet not listed above, to aftermarket bracelets, or to bracelets that have been altered, damaged or modified.

If you find you have ordered for the wrong reference, tell us before dispatch and we will change your order to a listed reference where one exists, or cancel it and refund you in full.

9. Price, payment, delivery and import charges

The development order price is USD 245.99. The planned public launch price is USD 274.99, and we commit not to sell SwiftLink for Omega below USD 274.99 for at least six months after public launch. Development order customers also receive the product before any other customer group.

The price you pay is the price displayed at checkout when you place your order. For orders delivered in the United Kingdom, the price includes UK VAT. The total price, including any delivery charge and any other compulsory fee, is shown before you commit to pay. We do not add compulsory charges later in the process.

Delivery charges are shown at checkout. Customers outside the United Kingdom are responsible for import duties, taxes, customs charges and handling fees imposed by their own country, unless the checkout expressly states otherwise.

You are responsible for giving complete and accurate delivery details, and for telling us of any address change before dispatch.

10. Your right to cancel

This is the most important section in these terms, so please read it.

If you are a consumer in the UK buying online, you have a legal right to cancel this contract under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because the goods are delivered to you after you order them:

Your cancellation period begins on the day the contract is formed and ends 14 days after the day you receive the product.

In practice, this means you can cancel your development order at any point between placing it and 14 days after your SwiftLink arrives, and get your money back. You do not need to give a reason.

How to cancel. Email customerenquiries@steel-reef.com with your name, address and order number, saying clearly that you wish to cancel. You can use the form in Annex A, but you do not have to. Any clear statement is enough. We will acknowledge your cancellation by email.

Refunds. If you cancel before the product has been dispatched, we will refund you in full, including any delivery charge, within 14 days of receiving your cancellation. If you cancel after delivery, you must return the product to us. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving it back, or of receiving evidence that you have sent it, whichever is earlier. We refund to the original payment method.

We refund the standard delivery charge you paid. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, we refund the standard cost only.

Return costs. If you cancel after the product has been delivered, you are responsible for the cost of returning it to us.

Condition of returns. If the returned product has been handled more than was necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, we may reduce your refund to reflect the reduction in its value.

Nothing in these terms limits this right. Every other provision in these terms is subject to this section.

11. Cancellation by us, and what happens if the project cannot be completed

We intend to complete SwiftLink for Omega if the funding condition is met. Development may still reveal a technical, manufacturing, reliability or compatibility problem that makes the product impractical to produce.

If we decide the project cannot reasonably be completed, we will tell you and refund in full what you paid for the affected product.

If only one model or reference is affected, we may continue with the remaining compatible versions and refund orders for the affected reference.

We may also cancel your order if information you gave us turns out to be materially incorrect, or if we cannot take payment. In either case we will refund anything you have paid.

12. Selling your watch before delivery

Please do not place a development order if you are already thinking about selling your Aqua Terra or Railmaster before delivery.

Once the funding condition is met, development order funds are committed to engineering, prototyping, tooling and production for the listed references. If you sell your watch, change your mind about keeping it, or no longer want SwiftLink, that does not by itself create any extra contractual right. Your rights in section 10 and your other legal rights are unaffected.

13. The development order group

We would like this group to be a small, involved community rather than a list of customers waiting for dispatch. Participation is voluntary.

We will send you monthly development updates about your order. These relate to your purchase, so they are not marketing messages, but you can ask us to stop sending them at any time by emailing us.

We may invite you to a private discussion group. Joining is optional and is never a condition of your order. If you join, we ask you to communicate respectfully with us and with other members. We may remove someone from the group for abusive behaviour. Removal from the group does not affect that person's order, refund rights or legal rights.

We may ask for feedback. You are free to give it or not. Feedback may inform the project, but individual suggestions are not binding and we cannot promise that any particular request will be adopted.

Marketing emails about other Steel Reef products are separate and are sent only if you have agreed to receive them. You can withdraw that agreement at any time.

14. Faulty or misdescribed products

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights if the goods are faulty, not as described, of unsatisfactory quality or unfit for a purpose you made known to us.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have, in summary:

  • up to 30 days from delivery to reject faulty goods and get a full refund
  • after 30 days and within six months, the right to ask for repair or replacement, and a refund if that fails
  • after six months, the right to a repair, replacement, price reduction or, in some cases, a refund

Guarantee. In addition to your legal rights, we give a one year guarantee from delivery covering defects in materials and workmanship. This guarantee is additional to, and does not replace, your legal rights.

15. Installation and use

Installation instructions will be supplied with the product and made available before delivery.

You are responsible for following those instructions and for using suitable tools. We recommend having the product fitted by a qualified watchmaker.

We are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable tools, unauthorised modification, misuse, or fitting the product to a watch or bracelet not listed in section 8.

This does not exclude our responsibility for a defect in the product itself, including damage caused to your watch by such a defect, or for anything else that cannot legally be excluded.

16. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, and for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that, if we fail to comply with these terms we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable when the contract was made.

If you are buying wholly or mainly for business purposes, then subject to the first paragraph of this section: we are not liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity, and our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid.

17. Intellectual property and feedback

All intellectual property rights in SwiftLink, including its design, engineering, branding, images and development materials, remain owned by or licensed to Steel Reef.

18. Independence from Omega

Steel Reef is independent. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Omega SA or the Swatch Group.

OMEGA, Seamaster, Aqua Terra and Railmaster are trademarks of Omega SA. We use them only to identify the watches our product is designed to fit. SwiftLink is not an Omega product and is not supplied, approved or serviced by Omega.

Fitting a third party component may affect any manufacturer warranty or service arrangement you have with Omega or an authorised dealer. Please check before fitting.

19. Data protection

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy at https://steelreef.com/policies/privacy-policy and with UK data protection law. We use your data to fulfil your order, send you order related updates, and meet our legal obligations. Exploratory Drilling Ltd is the data controller.

20. Complaints

If something goes wrong, please email customerenquiries@steel-reef.com. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and to resolve them within 30 days.

We do not currently participate in an alternative dispute resolution scheme.

21. Changes to these terms

The version of these terms you accepted when you placed your order applies to your order. We will send you a copy with your order confirmation, and you should keep it.

We may update these terms for future orders, or make changes required by law. We will not make a retrospective material change that disadvantages an existing customer without their agreement, unless the law requires it.

22. General

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you in writing if this happens and will make sure the transfer does not affect your rights. You may only transfer your rights or obligations to someone else if we agree in writing.

This contract is between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce it.

If a court finds any part of these terms unlawful, the rest continues in force.

If we delay enforcing any of these terms, that does not prevent us from enforcing them later.

Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delay or failure to perform caused by an event outside our reasonable control, provided we tell you promptly and take reasonable steps to reduce its effect. If such an event causes a delay, your rights in sections 6 and 10 still apply, including your right to cancel and be refunded.

23. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you may also have the benefit of mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence, and nothing here removes them.

You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, but if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.

24. Acceptance

By placing a SwiftLink development order you confirm that you:

  • have read, understood and accepted these terms
  • understand the product is still in development and is not an investment
  • understand that the delivery timetable is an estimate and may change, subject to the long stop date in section 6
  • understand that we will choose between the Spring Blade and Sawtooth mechanisms, and that you may cancel for a full refund once we tell you which one applies to your reference
  • have selected the correct watch model and reference from the list in section 8
  • understand your right to cancel under section 10
  • are at least 18 years old
