Which Watch Link Fits Your Exact Model? A Reference Number Guide

Not all watch links are universal. Use our reference number guide to find the exact link that fits your Rolex or Tudor model - no guesswork needed.

Why Reference Numbers Matter for Watch Links

Watch links aren't one-size-fits-all. Even within the same watch family - say, the Rolex Submariner - different generations and reference numbers use different bracelet widths, lug widths, and link dimensions. Getting the wrong link means a link that either won't fit the bracelet at all, or fits but looks and feels wrong.

The simplest way to make sure you're ordering the right link is to know your reference number. It's usually engraved between the lugs on the case at the 6 o'clock position, or on the rehaut (the inner bezel ring) on modern Rolex watches.

How to Find Your Reference Number

  • Rolex: Check between the lugs at 6 o'clock (older models) or on the rehaut (2005 onwards). Also on the papers/card if you have them.
  • Tudor: Engraved between the lugs at 6 o'clock on most models.
  • Serial number ≠ reference number: The serial identifies your specific watch; the reference identifies the model variant. You need the reference for link compatibility.

Rolex Compatibility Guide

Here's a breakdown of common Rolex models and which Steel Reef links are compatible:

Submariner (No Date) - Ref. 114060, 124060

The modern no-date Sub uses a 20mm lug width Oyster bracelet. Our Rolex-compatible half links and extension links are precision-made to match.

Submariner Date - Ref. 116610, 126610

Same 20mm lug width as the no-date. Our extension links are compatible across both references.

GMT-Master II - Ref. 116710, 126710

Also 20mm lug width with the Oyster bracelet. Same link family applies.

Datejust 36 - Ref. 116200, 126200

36mm case with Jubilee or Oyster bracelet. Note: Jubilee and Oyster bracelets require different links — confirm your bracelet type before ordering.

Tudor Compatibility Guide

Black Bay 41 - Ref. 79230, 79543, 79733

Steel bracelet version uses a 22mm lug width. Our Tudor 'On The Fly' extension links are designed specifically for this configuration.

Black Bay 58 - Ref. 79030

Slightly smaller at 39mm case, 19mm lug width. Different link sizing applies — do not interchange with Black Bay 41 links.

Pelagos - Ref. 25600, 25610, 25707

The Pelagos uses Tudor's proprietary rubber strap with a folding clasp in some configs, and steel bracelet in others. Steel bracelet versions are compatible with our Pelagos-specific links.
